The articles they quote admit that the tower was real, just that the events surrounding its alleged collapse were mythological.Scholars admit Hercules was a real figure, a great general, however the stories surrounding him are still regarded as mythological.This isn't a one off either. In fact most myths and fables are based on some part of reality, be it a real event or person.Even if you have to dig for it because myths are also often based off of other myths.Doesn't make the whole story true if some part of it was real.
