What world do you live in that you think Merchant Fees are not already passed on to the customer? In a retail setting you cannot typically negotiate price, but in any situation where I am hiring workers, contracting a job, or really anything where the price is not 100% fixed, I ALWAYS ask "Is there a cash discount?" Paying in cash will usually save me 2%-3% and sometimes will save as much as 10%
