I remember seeing an interview where one of the MDC guys was talking about how this was supposed to be some sort of indictment of the prevailing American culture of the age, or some shit like that. Which makes sense, considering the origins of punk as something of a counter-culture movement.

To me, the effect is the opposite of what they intended; There's already ample evidence to the effect that he was a "racist". The thought of The Duke being a Nazi only makes me like him that much more.
