Math is math. There is no jewish math. A formula isn't one of true, false, or jewish. The only thing common core destroys is the ability of parents to pass on what they learned. This brings everyone down to the same level. It's not productive. It's stupid. But it is still math.
Your job as a parent is to teach your kids math BEFORE they are exposed to common core, and to learn common core yourself. Then with your help your kids can focus on and crush common core too. It will actually broaden their experience and take them closer to mathematical maturity. It doesn't have to be a negative. K-strategy will always prevail in math. If you hate common core, you may not be a true K-strategist.
