It's bullshit. The only way that would be possible to my knowledge is SQL injection. I've taken measures to prevent that. Since these accusations I've looked at the code, specially the registration code (which someone in that thread mentioned) and there is nothing there. I've tried gaining database information through it, and it's just not possible. I invite anyone with the technical know how to see what they can find. It's worth nothing IF this was real, a simple command is all it takes the wipe the whole database, which you think would have been done by now. I take this shit seriously though, and am considering encrypting IPs throughout the database (which would be a shit ton of work, but it's a good idea regardless)

People get IP addresses on voat.xyz and poal.co the simple way, via two cleverly made URLS with unique innocent looking adornments appended to the url such as "?twitterradar97563", then check logs of people you have strong hunch went to link that hour, then do it again knowing you have a serial DOWNVOTE STALKER, and seeing which IPS ping twice, using both URLS. I never click on links with adornments without manually stripping after the first question mark. Divulging this method ruins one of many of my tricks, but I never employed that ways and means on any voat(s).
The ways the glowniggers NOT already hopping a ride around your server harvest IPs is by infiltration via zero-days delivered in a poisoned PDF, typically lacking a (PDF) link warning. Then once inside the PDF either does a url outbound fetch (no good for VPN), or installs local root code (perfect for tor and vpn users here).
The ways the glowniggers NOT already hopping a ride around your server harvest IPs behind VPNS and behind tor WITHOUT using PDF, is if they are Apple Products this month using this years Apple browsers by posting a malware infested WebP file streaming illegally as a advertised 'JPEG' stream and Apple only patched 2 or 3 this last month of 8 webp zerodays. Poal.co took care of it and detroys and destroyed all WebP links from the new catbox.moe which started hosting and sending tainted webp misnamed as jpg this last month.
I did not come here to write book on hacking. I just wanted to remind you that people here get IPs the old fashioned ways, not by dropping tables in SQL for sanitized string inputs. They also get locations from EXIF of nature photos from iphones and android (not DLSR procameras).
