If you avoid WebRTC and avoid websockets then no one knows your IP. A rumor here claimed some browsers got websockets based connections to the "CHAT PAGE" on voat.xyz when you open up page big, but I saw no websockets in the transmissions coming in from others.

JAVASCRIPT sent by middlemen (Cloudflare on old voat.co) could use javascript exploits to get your real IP behind a firewall or behind a VPN or behind tor. The site itself uses javascript, but taps at the colocation point already collect IPs for Feds. Also the old voat.co used Clouflare which collected and enforced all PMs to be sent in clear text only and logged for FBI, and Cloudflare did.

Also 3 days ago I revealed catbox.moe was being mysteriously used to try and exploit people on Poal.co and voat.xyz, using bugs in WebP tricks, and poal immediately deleted all WebP, all catbox webP, all links to WebP and even for a while for now ALL new links from catbox that are fake jpgs.
