https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-10161697/Volvo-says-electric-car-making-emissions-70-HIGHER-petrol.html

The average lifetime mileage of an EV vehicle is about 15-20yrs or 100K-150K miles.

It says at current global electricity mix, it needs to be driven almost 70k miles - 9 years based on average UK mileage - to offset its higher production emissions.

You have to use the car for half of its serviceable life before there are marginal gains in emissions vs current internal combustion engines, not factoring in production of lithium batteries.

What a scam.
