More of a personal spot for me. This pulley driven elevator took me from suburbia with the church/college/school spots to downtown. Where there were ledges in alleys, pavillions unoccupied, good stair sets, parking decks with great manual pads at the top where we could watch the sun sink. Easy to get to industrial areas with loading decks. The nice ladies that operated it stop charging me cause I came and went so often. Usually with friends but sometimes solo.

You may come across this sub and begin seeing pictures of random stair sets, ledges, ramps etc.

I figure I'll explain it ahead of time.

These spots are hallowed ground for a lot of skaters.

When you start getting your bearings as a skater you start looking at architecture a bit differently.

Ledges, rails, stairs, benches attract your attention along with the environment in which they exist. You start paying attention to the conditions of the pavement. You start looking at take off and landing areas.

Questions like:

"How's the runway?"
"How's the landing?"
"Is the rail sturdy?"
"Is the bench rounded?"

We become both architects and structural engineers.

"What kind of concrete?"
"Marble? I'm in."
"Police presence?"

These kind of things go through our minds because it determines how well a "trick" could work out. So smooth concrete runway, good rail, good smooth landing area is perfect. A large pavilion with loads of concrete benches no one uses is fantastic. Maybe a little fountain for atmosphere.
