I strongly recommend this film because there are only White people in it and it's a brilliant film about a brilliant man. Glenn Gould understood Bach's keyboard music had tremendous richness and texture that could be expanded by interpreting it on the piano.

The harpsichord, the instrument Bach wrote for, was limited in its expression because the strings were plucked and the tone only had one volume and resonated for a short time, which the piano uses small hammers to create a tone from the strings, and the volume is dynamic and the duration of the tone can be very short or sustained.

This is a movie about our European heritage that we are slowly losing.

All-time classic 1980 movie. With english subtitles

It was a so-so movie, but it has some Queens references. Alan Alda’s character erroneously says he grew up on Steinway Boulevard in Astoria—he meant Steinway Street. Tea LeonI’s FBI Agent is from Forest Hills.
