So I've spoken of this a bit. I'm not going to flesh it all out here but questions are welcome. You might say it is a very French idea as the foremost intellectual influences on it are French: the Marquis de Sade and Auguste Comte. Not that I intend this as a sectant broadside. I'm the guy bringing the devil into the church after all. I'm hardly orthodox in my Protestantism myself at this point. But you don't need the Vatican.
