Making Money: Field notes on the gig economy     (TellUpgoat)

Or, why you should never trust American healthcare.

I saw some of you discussing how to make money in the gig economy, in a world that hates you. Here’s a reflection on my experience in that arena, maybe it will be useful to you.

DISCLAIMER: Don’t bother telling me I’m a useless grifter. Your society is dead, take from it what you can like everybody else, and use it to build something different, hopefully better.

First off, here’s a couple quick and dirty methods that aren’t total bullshit. They’re an okay ROI for your time but are not a job by any means.
1. Mailbox Money
Go here: https://topclassactions.com/
Fill out all that can seem to apply to you. Don’t bother with ones that require proof. Pick the low-hanging fruit

2. Product research surveys
None of that 50 cents for twenty questions shit. There are some good but selective product surveys out there. ProductreportCard paid me $150 to review vape juice once. Since it’s market research they want you to be from a certain background. Lie and say you’re an upper middle class normie to get the good offers. Maybe you’re a proud she-POC who drives a Lexus. Bonus points if you subtly fuck with their research data.

Now, an case study of how you can survive in the Gig Economy
TL:DR- I do better than survive in a sketchy niche and you could too.

Some years ago I found myself unjustly unemployed, and decided everything is bullshit and that I was going to begin separating from society. I needed money and liked reading and writing, so I started freelancing. It’s a completely saturated market in most regards, but I noticed a lot of people offering to write college papers, and that certain degrees are a large part of the market. For example nursing is largely a make-work job, and nursing degrees aren’t difficult. Unless you’re a nurse that is, because all nurses are stupid, lazy, and greedy. They need help making sentences and don’t mind paying for it since they’re told they’ll make $40 an hour when they graduate.

So, I started advertising for nursing assignments. It was a good decision because customers were plentiful. Once you do a few classes you’ll see that they’re all basically the same. There’s like 4 schools that account for 80% of degrees, and they have similar requirements for regulatory reasons. This means there’s a fixed set of skills and body of knowledge that can simplify the work. To my customers their thesis project is chaos, but for me it’s Tuesday. There’s other fields like this, go find your own. How about education? Those people are lazy and stupid too.

Reasons this worked out:
1. It’s generally legal, but sketchy enough that advertising is tricky and most people won’t be associated with it. That’s a barrier to entry, but only for people that are still invested in society.
2. I had to advertise as a high-quality provider (which I definitely am) because the whole industry is full of ESL scammers who charge very little and provide almost nothing. That’s a benefit for anyone who actually does good work. Do good work and you can charge good money.

Warnings:
-- If you do something similar, by which I mean anything gig-based and related to mainstream activities, prepare to still tolerate some normie-think. I write about BIPOC inclusive LBTBBQ underserved community bullshit every third paper, because I’s part of the indoctrination in most schools. Particularly in female-dominated fields like nursing, but I see it everywhere now. Set your politic aside, and smirk that you’re making some money wrecking the system.
-- Be patient, and scale up. It pays to have a nice website (which is very cheap to set up) if you’re asking people for hundreds of dollars to make their PPT presentation on heart disease medication. Look and act professional, superficially.
-- Don’t ever do work before you get paid. You WILL get fucked over.
-- Nurses are idiots and American healthcare is shit for the peasant class. Go somewhere else if you ever need more than a prescription.

Hope this helps someone. I'm too lazy to write a nice conclusion (unless you pay me).
