Miami was on it for a year. Some of the best times. When on B2 for a week it was pretty much gone for the week in the summer. Loads of search and rescue. Played tag with a cuban gunboat one time.
In the 70s the main towline was big double braided nylon. If that what you were using then he was very lucky. For those that do not know think of it as a rubber band about the size of your wrist. Stretch it way out and let it snap back.
How did Keven make out?
Yea helo blades when working with an 82 have a tendency to be very close to the mast. One wrong move and it lands on you and the deck.
For everyone else i also did a stint on a coast guard 82 foot patrol boat.
Just because you have a boat and money does not mean your not stupid on the water.
The ship was that old not me. In 1977 the coast guard was still using a ship built in 1936. Steam powered. Kinda famous in that she rammed and sunk a uboat. That was not what i was on. conn77 was on one of the newest ships built a real high speed hauler at times.
I did 2 years a bit on a wmec out of oregon at the same time era. Did Qmow watches 4 on 8 off for 21 days at a time. Did a lot of fish patrols playing tag with the russian fishing fleet. Yep to the small personal space. I was top rack in the stack right under neath 2 big pipes. They were the shitter pipe and the shower/sink drain pipe. Got to hear when someone flushed. Hell of a crew. We managed to the get the 4th and the 5th E for ops at reftray. Navy was pissed that we outdid everyone in a cutter built in 42.

Thanks for the fix. I hope you used a VPN to upload as mediafire displays the country of origin of the file.
The Nat Geo ones are great. A mix of irony and humor all at once.
