I hate body armor. We always operated without it or at least most of us chose to. We were already loaded down with so much gear because a typical mission would last between three and five days. To me being light fast and agile is more important than a little protection. Personal choice.

Kevlar with ceramic plates is what most guys used when I was in. I know there has been a lot of the advances in body armor technology but I haven't kept up on it so I'm probably not the best guy to ask.
