Sakura Wars Mobile Game Sakura Revolution Shutting Down in June, 7 Months After Its Release     (twinfinite.net)

Rumored at a development cost of a whopping $30M USD, this free-to-play mobile game reportedly earned less than $1M in its 1st month of release, slotting it at 215 among mobile rankings - https://archive.vn/S4HZ2

As the failure threshold is an average of 50th place, the release was catastrophic. While it's not clear why Sakura Wars was considered worthy of such expense upon its reboot, it's a stark reminder of how digital is akin to owning nothing.

Even as Sony recently reversed its decision on shutting down PS3 and Vita purchases permanently, but not PSP, they will inevitably pull the plug again at a future date. The same fate will follow for gacha games, irrespective of ranking.

The only way to future proof is to own physical, be it cartridges/disks or backups via piracy, and disseminate copies.

Blue Reflection: New Games, TV Series Announced     (twinfinite.net)

Blue Reflection, a turn-based RPG about magical school girls dealing with life's problems with beautiful art, is seeing an upcoming TV series and 2 games: 1 on DMM, and another on PS4/Steam/Switch.

While the original game had some DLC costumes, it was never lewd or sexual. With modern day Koei Tecmo though, that may not prevent it from self-censorship and bears further monitoring.

Rumor: PS3, PS Vita, and PSP Stores Will Permanently Close Soon     (nichegamer.com)

Mentioned elsewhere, the ability to purchase games for these platforms is rumored to be closing. Even with archival efforts (Vita < 45%, PS3 barely > 60%), many Japanese-only games and significant DLC content will be irrecoverably lost. Long-term fate of the CDNs is unknown.
