I've decided to do a 7 days water-only fast. I've done couple of 3 day fasts before so i was sure i'll be fine for the first 3 days and both times the 3rd day, i felt as amazing mentally as i have ever and physically i felt fine (altough a little less muscular strength for obvious reasons).
I need to loose a lot of weight (a lot might mean something different for everybody) and i decided that a prolonged water only fast was the best way for me to change my dietary habits, since a prolonged fast (especially 5 days +) is kind of like a reset for the whole body and especially for the digestive system. I've been drinking way to much beer and it basically became a habitual addiction for me. My diet has been mostly healthy (rarely fast-foods and mostly natural unprocessed foods) except for beer. I exercised daily but i knew that no matter what i did, if i continue to drink beer (at least in quantities i have been) i would not be able to loose all the fat i need to and get in proper shape. I remembered that when i've done the 3 day fast i felt completely no craving for beer (the only alcohol i drink basically) and also i knew that if i drank any alcohol during a fast it would be very dangerous for me since when fasting the liver is extremely engaged in producing ketons and alcohol would be extremely damaging to it.
I'm going to break the fast in 2 days with beef bone broth only, for the first day and 2 next days broth and a couple of hard boiled eggs.
If anyone here gives a shit.
Other than loosing weight and mental "boost" here are some other benefits:
-reduces probability of cancer through a process called autophagy (some even say they cured cancer with it and it seems highly probabe since that's what autophagy does)
-resets hormones that work in tandem with digestive system to what you could call default settings
-reducses hunger and cravings for shitty foods (as long as you don't start eating them again)
