My boys are each about eight years apart. My own growth over the past 20+ years since becoming a parent has been very interesting and it's almost like they have had three entirely different upbringings but I've always tried to be honest. "Mighty White" is a short way to say a lot.

I don't know. There was a black football player who married a White lady and their son turned out "mixed" looking but shockingly light considering his father is fairly dark. The son also plays in the NFL (currently) and married a blond, White gal and their kids look straight-up White.
I was thinking there are conditions where wood lasts for centuries so I don't see early degradation being too much of a problem here.
