As far as they are concerned, if there is no redemption plan or pathway to success that can be guaranteed, than it's not worth building. The funny thing is my gf and her family actually had a killer app idea which was eventually used to spurn this new idea. I simply changed around some pieces and enhanced some of the features from a second app i was working on to create the new app im working on. Practically the app is 75% their idea and 25% my idea.
The reasoning was they didn't want to get involved in the app creating problems, or potentially being sued, so the app was sunsetted and replaced with this new app version. I added my inspiration from veracrypt, and multi cast messaging system and my new work on ethereum.
Whilst there are some app variants out there, a lot of them don't quite do what i want it to do, and are missing a lot of features. And they don't have the granularity of what im trying to do either. My gf and her family do make a good point that if someone sues me or litigates, or something, than it would not be ideal. So whilst the app definitely has a market attached to it( i was gonna use upgoat as an initial spearhead), there are also a lot of risks which may not make it worth it

The tldr on this one based off my last post is severe mismanagement combined with really bad incompetence. They have 3 teams that need to be managed, but they don’t hire anyone. So now we brought in entry level non devs from qa and are teaching them to be developers. This is a problem because I end up assigning work to them, the work is too hard and I end up doing most of the work for them, or fixing the bugs that are introduced. I’m essentially a lead now, a mentor, assigning tasks, delegating, doing deadlines, doing releases, building out pipelines and coordinating a bunch of stuff I wasn’t really hired to do.
I feel like asking for more money but my push back is that I kinda just started and I don’t want to rock the boat. Most people are losing their job left and right, so I don’t want to be that guy who shoots himself in the foot asking for more money
My gf's rebuttal to this was kinda interesting. As far as she's concerned, it's relating to unbelievers of Christ and not directly to jews. Essentially even though jews are not christian, never having pretended to be, all the verses relating to judaism are directed to non jew gentiles. The copium ... it hurts sometimes
