This video is an overview of the Runge "RS" Porsche powered Special. The "RS" is the latest handcrafted sports car from the toolroom of Chris Runge. The design process begins with an era in mind. The RS is Runge's interpretation of a late 50's racing Spyder. Influences from Italian, British and German functionality and aesthetics are combined to form this work of art.

The car features a mild steel ladder frame chassis with mid engine transaxle and engine placement. Suspension utilizes a modified VW front beam with height adjustable torsion and dampening adjustable shocks. The rear suspension also has dampening adjustable shocks with 4 points of height adjustment. The Swing axle setup utilizes custom built Runge Spring Plates.

The 4 Speed custom built transaxle is shifted via Runge designed shift linkage and gear selector.

The Engine is a James Cox built Porsche 356 Race prepped hi-compression engine producing 120HP. The RS Weighs in at 1200LBS making power to weight ratio excellent.

Braking is provided via Porsche 356B Aluminum Drums that have been modified with venting for cooling by Runge. The wheels are one-off aluminum made in Germany.

The RS has dual fuel tanks that are switch operated via a diverter valve. The Main 13 Gallon Tank features a 100MM Fuel filler with the 7 Gallon "Qualifier Tank" having a vintage Naval Flip cap filler.

The RS has dual storage compartments both front and rear providing adequate storage for longer drives and ralley events.

The body is hand formed 3003 .060" aluminum which has been Gas and TIG welded with a hand rubbed final polish. Louvers are hand formed and entirely functional to the cars mechanical systems.

St. Francis Xavier was a Navarrese-Basque Roman Catholic missionary born in the Kingdom of Navarre on April 7, 1506. His father was a privy counselor and finance minister to King John III of Navarre. He was the youngest in his family and resided in a castle which still partially stands today and is in the possession of the Jesuit order.

As the young Francis grew, he was surrounded by war. Navarre was the target of a campaign by King Ferdinand of Aragon and Castile, and the kingdom was eventually conquered.

When the war stopped and Francis came of age, he was sent to study at the University of Paris. While there he roomed with his friend, Peter Favre. The pair met and were heavily influenced by Ignatius of Loyola, who encouraged Francis to become a priest.

# [St. Eligius December 1st | Saint of the Day](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtdzMsUZvZ4)

Eligius (also known as Eloi) was born around 590 near Limoges in France. He became an extremely skillful metalsmith and was appointed master of the mint under King Clotaire II of Paris. Eligius developed a close friendship with the King and his reputation as an outstanding metalsmith became widespread. With his fame came fortune. Eligius was very generous to the poor, ransomed many slaves, and built several churches and a monastery at Solignac. He also erected a major convent in Paris with property he received from Clotaire's son, King Dagobert I. In 629, Eligius was appointed Dagobert's first counselor. Later, on a mission for Dagobert, he persuaded the Breton King Judicael, to accept the authority of Dagobert. Eligius later fulfilled his desire to serve God as a priest, after being ordained in 640. Then he was made bishop of Noyon and Tournai. His apostolic zeal led him to preach in Flanders, especially Antwerp, Ghent, and Courtai where he made many converts. Eligius died on December 1, around 660, at Noyon. He is the patron of metalworkers and his feast day is December 1. The use of one's talents and wealth for the welfare of humanity is a very true reflection of the image of God. In the case of St. Eligius, he was so well liked that he attracted many to Christ.
