Trophies

Mod of:
NutziHiveKickers,

Good lord. That sounds horrific. I wasn't raised on a farm or around chickens so there's no way I would ever have been exposed to that, and I have a new respect for anyone who had to do that disgusting chore. I remember Garrison Keillor (the Prairie Home Companion guy) telling a story about slaughtering chickens as you described, and one got away after it was decapitated and just kept running.

I've never smelled wet chicken, but I have smelled a lot of wet dogs. If wet chicken is worse than wet dog, I understand how you feel.

I think most people overlook the humor in punk music. It's not all seriousness and righteous anger. John Lydon can be a riot, and a lot of bands were pretty tongue in cheek.

So, you're not going with pre-plucked chickens.

Will do. I love sharing this kind of stuff, and the sillier the better.

Corrupt political jew kvetches that his party became exactly what it was expected to become after 20 years of acting like liberal retards who talk down to people and fret over identity politics.

Hey, sorry I flame sprayed you in another comment. Tom Lehrer just gets my hackles up. I'm glad we have a shared interest in novelty music and Dr Demento. Are you familiar with a guy who calls himself Captain Wayne? He runs a site called Mad Music. I don't know about these days, but he used to do a show similar to Dr D's and his compilations were outstanding.

I hope you don't actually believe any of this.

That's not the only solar collector in the California desert. They're all over the place, and they're a blight. I noticed there's an unidentified golf course in the middle of nowhere next to I15. Very strange. I guess that's where part of that federal grant money went.

I never heard this one before. This sort of thing was why I started listening to Doctor Demento fifty years ago.

I despise Tom Lehrer. Imagine a gentile writing sarcastic songs about jews. Now flip that, and you have Tom Lehrer. Nothing he's ever written is worthwhile and it always criticizes White culture. Plus, he's a leftist liberal, so who gives a fuck what this jew says. The thing this song make fun of were outdated by decades by the time he wrote it, so it's not exactly timely. "Whopping slaves and selling cotton"? C'mon. I wish this fucking jew would die already. He's overextended his time on earth.

Far older than that. The temperance song "The Lips That Touch Liquor Will Never Touch Mine" was written in 1874 by George T. Evans and was popularized during the Temperance Movement that led to the Volstead Act in 1919.

The correct pronunciation of course is "tor-tuss". It's accepted by both American and British speakers. I'd really like to know why in literally every Discworld audio book I've listened to the reader pronounces it as "tor-toyse". It's incredibly distracting.

I agree with everything you say except one thing: "their", not "they're".

There is very little in any of the Pentateuch that is historically accurate, notably the Exodus. That's false and a jewish lie.

There was no "worldwide flood" as described in the Biblical account of Genesis. Nor does the fossil record come even close to supporting evolution.

I remember it was somewhat commonly used in the 60s but started to fade from usage by the late 70s because of it became politically incorrect. A lot of expressions became unpopular by the late 70s, like "Indian summer", "Indian giver", "nigger rich", and "nigger rig". Saying you got "gypped" or got "jewed down" became frowned upon too.

I'm genuinely sorry that sketch never made it past that point. It would have been even better if Norm Macdonald played the Columbo character. Norm was really in his element in one of the last things he did, "Norm Macdonald Live", in which he told people about the fake gas chambers and the fake chimney that wasn't attached to the crematorium at Auschwitz. Sometimes he would tease his sidekick Adam Eg(r)et about being a "holocaust denier". Good stuff. It's available for free on archive.org.

I had no idea what this post was about.

>On 3 June 2025, it was reported that U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had ordered the renaming of (((Harvey Milk))) in order to "[reestablish] the warrior culture". A defense official indicated that the announcement was intentionally timed to take place during Pride Month.

>USNS (((Harvey Milk))) (T-AO-206) is the second of the John Lewis-class of underway replenishment oilers, operated by the Military Sealift Command (MSC) to support ships of the United States Navy.

>In July 2016, Ray Mabus, then United States Secretary of the Navy, advised Congress that he intended to name the John Lewis-class oilers after prominent civil rights leaders, with this ship to be named in honor of gay rights activist (((Harvey Milk))). It was officially named at a ceremony in San Francisco on 16 August 2016.

Are you actually autistic? Your comment made no sense whatsoever.

I agree, he made his point and defended it very well.

There is a difference between showing the inconsistencies and improbabilities in atheism and attributing the existence of the universe to a divine creator. Those are two very separate things. The first simply denies any involvement with a creator and creates a logical gap. The other attempts to fill the gap with observational evidence and/or supposition.

We absolutely have no idea how everything came about. We are too insignificant to comprehend any of it. It's like the analogy of an ant trying to understand the concept of "the back yard". I tend to believe there is intelligence and design to the universe, but whether it was created or exists in a "steady state" cannot be determined because we'll never be able to understand well enough. Anything beyond that is just one person defending his own assumptions against another person's assumptions. It's all wank and pointless.

I first heard Redbone's second album "Potlatch" in 1972. Easily the best track was "Maggie", a five minute piece with heavy bass and an incredibly catchy hook.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s91hvRs3_SY

The single that came from their first album was "Niki Hoeky" in 1970. My mom bought that 45, which I still have.

Their third album, "Message From a Drum", produced the single "Witch Queen of New Orleans", which is also still well known.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxibgkb3RFY

They were on the show "Midnight Special", which came on at 1AM Friday night/Saturday mornings and was hosted by Wolfman Jack, which is where the clip above comes from. They stopped performing in 1977, having gone about as far as an Indian band could go in the 1970s, probably the only time when that would be possible. They had a few overtly political songs, but their rock/funk music was what most people responded to.
