the screen on the laptop is cracked and i lost the keyboard. im going to be learning cnc at a facility and will need a laptop. this laptop would work but to move it around i have to pick up the power cord, keyboard, power supply, and mouse while the USB hub is dangling off of it and the screen is cracked. This makes me look like a homeless person. So option 1: Buy a new laptop. Option 2: print out some plastic garbage. In this case I saved several hundred dollars by not having to buy a new laptop. 3D printer skeptics, I rest my case.

I did this because I am trying to sell some shit I co-invented with people who already made it 10+ years ago but aren't selling it right.

Anyhow, if you've never seen a modern 3D printer they are amazing. First test print I did I kept saying wow over and over again.

While I'm primarily using it for my device I'm finding that it has a million and a half household uses as well. Once you get good enough at autodesk (which btw is not all that hard) you can just whip things up very quickly.

Well, to be fair, right now I'm printing a laptop case for my tablet computer that lost its keyboard. On the top half I just mount the computer and on the bottom half I put in a wireless keyboard and mouse. It has room for a usb hub, strain relief on the power cord, a couple gizmos, etc. And this one did take me a very frustrating 6-7 hours to design but I myself am very new and this allowed me to keep using my old computer instead of having to buy a new one. Now it's basically a laptop again and in a lot of ways better than new.

Of course you can 3D print guns but that's dumb, just buy a normal gun or a pipe gun or something. But to each his own.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this. If you do stuff like woodworking you definitely should add 3D printing to your repertoire.

technically this is 5 minutes past midnight but i had another fire to put out half way through writing this post (which started about a half an hour before midgnight). Which means I've been able to easily find one type of call for assassination of Trump or Musk off the front page of reddit every day since I started this subverse.

I admit that is conspiratorial but again, I haven't seen a single french revolution themed call for assassination yet and now two on the same day, practically right next to each other on the front page. Weird, that's all I'm saying.

*okay to be fair - this was on the top of MY front page. i forgot to go to /r/popular. i don't know if it will show the same post on /r/popular now that i've already visited it. in any case the only reason it would put /r/law on my front page is because i had visited it previously, off of the front page and if this was high enough on /r/law it stands to reason that it wouldn't be too far down on /r/popular but admittedly, im not going to go look for it to try and confirm that hypothesis.
