I appreciate the time and intelligence you put into your post. Yes there was slavery in the Old Testament, I have not denied that. It is certainly not a defining feature of Christianity. The practice is similar to divorce, where as Jesus said, it was allowed due to the hardness of peoples hearts. God does not endorse slavery, as you say, but allowed it with certain rules due to the sinful nature of people. I am not denying slavery occurred throughout history, but calling it a defining feature of Christianity is just not correct. That is all I have to say on this matter. Have a good day.
