My Great Dane drips water like a faucet whenever she feels like she needs to down half a bowl or more. I manually wipe her off every time, so I just trained her to let me know when she's thirsty and wipe her afterwards.
I'm OCD as fuck and I want to not have to do this, but she's so happy that I do this for her that she basically talks to me everyday without saying a thing. I used to be a giant fat guy, so any more exercise that I'm forced to do isn't a bad thing. I'm down to 200 pounds today and I'm not recognized by nearly anyone who knew me 10 years ago.
TL:DR - Everyone who doesn't do something for their dogs is lazy.
