its almost always the later. its only the former when its jews trying to use lolbergarianism as a means to get the foot in the door for more toxic degeneracy they want to lure the goyims into and profit from (i.e. legalized marijuana). most of the run of the mill lolbergs become lolbergs because they're involved in some sort of illegal activity and don't want to go to jail. In some cases what they're doing shouldn't be illegal (such as in gun laws), but most of the time its something more sinister.
