someone (not me...) has a different standpoint:

"seems like a reductive definition. philosophy is more like the production of systems of the acceptance or negation of thought—it needn't aim at 'logical clarification of thought' when it instead can broadly encompass "the (d)evaluation of thoughts with respect to oneself." when the aim of philosophy is "clarification" it means "avoidance of deception within perception"—that risks conjuring a world of appearances seperate to reality per experience. hence the analytic/continental divide."
