This is one of those "just africa things" that comes back around every couple of years.
It usually starts with some village elder having a dream, or a voodoo witch-doctor having a vision. More often, I suspect, it has something to do with somebody owing money to a bald guy and starting a rumor to get him killed.
It usually lasts until they've killed enough bald guys and cut their heads open to discover that, "Nope, no gold here." And then it dies back down again. The fact that nobody ever seems to remember the last time they tried (usually only a couple years) tells you all you need to know about nigger's long term memory. Every day is "baby duck" day.
