I argue the opposite, that the age of consent be raised to 25, anything under that should be considered like a child is regarding their ability to consent to sexual activity.
This comes from my understanding of the development of the brain with age. Like with the laws that set the age at 18 or 20, there'd be an exception for those under 25 who engage in sexual activity if their ages fall within an acceptable age difference.
It's not too difficult to implement and would have positive effects.
Most porn out there would be legally considered child pornography, and girls/women will remain sexually pure for longer, closing the window a bit more on sexual activity means that women would feel more pressure to have children as soon as they are able, and women will be choosing their first partners closer in age to themselves.
Why would anyone oppose raiding the age of consent to 25? Especially if we go at it the way we do with ages like 18, where we make exceptions for under 25 sexual partners within a certain age-range of one another?
