I had a decent dog attack story from when I was a kid.
When I was like six or seven, me and a friend were catching frogs in a pond in the country, and heard some little girl screaming down the road about 300 yards away.
We looked over and seen some huge St. Bernard type mutt attacking a girl younger then us, and we had to run to my friends place about 200 yards away adjacent to the dog. So we just bolted hoping it didn’t see us, but just as we got into my friends yard we seen it was coming. We got into the house before it got there and was barking at us at the window, but within a minute of that we just heard some huge yelp and looked outside and I guess that girls father scooped the girl up while her uncle chased after it with a 3 foot length of heavy chain and just whipped that dog to death right in front of us. Like it was 5 ft in front of the window we were sitting at.
I know we were terrified and my young memory likely hyped the shit out of it, but I swear I’ve never seen a man hulk smash that hard in all my life. Like LONG after it was dead.
The girl had bad bites on her face and hands, but I remember we went with my buddies dad as he helped the dogs owner come pick it up, and it was practically cut in half.
He said they would have just killed the dog later and went with to the hospital, but he seen it chasing us, which is what made it stop attacking the girl.
That guy was pretty cool. I remember a few years later there was a tornado in that town (6-7 houses) and we all ran to the only neighbors with a basement, and that guy had heard we were terrified of him after that so he talked with us a bit and actually showed us he had that chain hanging across his gun rack in his back window. Lol.
