Hormones are important for body composition. Exercise and sleep influences hormones. No one wants to have a "good" BMI but have garbage body composition.

You need the right kinds of foods, in the right calorie ranges, with physical and chemical stimulation to promote proper hormone balances (which is a complicated balance of exercise, nutrition, and sleep).
