They don't have to force everyone onto a CBDC. All they have to do is declare that the dollar is now worth whatever the CBDC is. And roll back that cash is legal tender for all debts. Just make cash optional. Sure you can have it. But no one wants it now. At best, you'll be able to trade cash with other "cashbugs," but you can do that with crypto or whatever. Most people will still have to turn in that cash to get money they can actually spend at le grocery.
