Men cannot be fully certain that a child is theirs like women can, and so the best indicators of correct lineage are chastity and fidelity in a woman.
An offspring of foreign race proves, glaringly so, that that woman has not been chaste. It proves it more so than if the child was of the man's race, as in such a case the unchasteness can be more "excusable" (biologically speaking).
A man might be willing to excuse children from a previous relationship if they are of his race (especially if he can have children of his own with that woman), but not a different race entirely, as that is too evident of a past reproductive partner, and most healthy men would find it repelling.
