An exciting announcement from Kirill Dmitriev, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the main financer of Sputnik V:

Further mutations of COVID-19 could be more dangerous, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said in a documentary shown Saturday on Russia-24 TV channel.

You know, many were relaxed by the fact that the first version of Omicron was rather weak, the current version of BA.5, it is certainly much more dangerous, it is actually in the middle between Delta and the first Omicron. Therefore, we hope, of course that further mutations will weaken the virus. But so far, the history of the spread of the virus has shown that this may not be the case. Therefore, we must be prepared for new, more dangerous mutations,” he said.

Natural viruses don’t “want” to kill their host. If their host dies, they lose their vital source of reproduction. This is why most viruses will tame out if given enough time, as we have observed (supposedly) with covid.

The problem with viruses is when they end up in a new habitat where they happen to be able to infect a human, but it is a sort of “accident.” The virus behaves how it would in the original host species, which can be deadly to humans but otherwise fine in the original host species. Over the spread of human to human infection, they tend to get milder and milder.

This is why I believe that if covid does indeed get worse, then there is more shenanigans going on behind the scenes with creating viruses. I also believe that viruses are more like a top down control and communication mechanism for colonies of organisms. If theres a virus that can overwrite the genome of everything in the colony, it is a lot more advantageous to release the virus to the colony to “rewrite” bad DNA/RNA to adapt to certain conditions within the colony as a whole.

Also consider 99.9% of viruses are harmless to you. Under this hypothesis, a virus that makes you sick is like running code meant for one type of CPU on a different CPU. It is a piece of code running where it was not intended.
