I got pissed and shouted at him "NO YOU DONT!". He looked startled, took a step back, then wrote me a ticket for having a taillight out. Real crimefighter there. I had hair past my shoulders back then. GUILTY! I hadnt smoked weed in 10 years and told him so.
I had a cop do this to me in a rental. He did likely smell weed as I was leaving from an island stay and had been smoking not 5 minutes earlier before the bridge. cop pulled me over on the far side. I was speeding, he came to window, said he smells weed. I called him a liar and said that there is absolutely no way he smells weed. It was very windy at the time. More cops showed, I refused search and said I have plane to catch to hurry this up. They asked to see a gatorade bottle that had a few cigarette butts in it. They passed it around smelling it. After a bit of a cop conference, they gave me a speeding ticket and left. I did have the last of my weed on me, a couple joints and a handful of anxiety pills to make the flight easier.
