It's one of the few glimmers of remaining justice in the UK, that if your a multi-millionaire and get charged with a crime, your less likely to get bail than a normal person who committed the same crime.
If you are facing a couple of years in prison (and not considered a danger to the community) they will give you bail, and you can sort your shit out, gather shit for your defense or whatever....
But if you are facing a couple of years of prison, and have the means to get out of the country without going through border control and get to a place you have set up in a non extradition country (again without passing through border control)...you are staying inside.
