A former Australian army captain told me that when he sent out small teams (3 soldiers) on exercises that lasted for days, he learnt that he could NEVER send out an all female unit. Inevitably, an all female team would catfight to the point of becoming completely inoperable. Rank made no difference. As long as he put just one male soldier in the team, there'd be no catfighting and the team could function.
