LEGALLY speaking this should be LEGAL in the US. It is NOT. Cops would say, YOU are supposed to CALL them, when they get there, ALL evidence of a crime is GONE (if he doesn't CONFESS). That makes them USELESS. That makes the ADVICE, useless. THAT encourages the CRIMINAL.
