Here's the bits of my religious exemption, why it works, and copy/paste text and resources you can use.

submitted by totes_magotes to whatever 2.5 yearsOct 29, 2021 19:37:37 ago (+43/-1)     (whatever)

If you're here to complain about how this is some bullshit, go fuck off to your wet-dreams about violent revolution in your mom's basement. There are other people here who either aren't ready to get violent or can't let their employment status change. I do more to keep stupid sick fucks like you safe and alive every day than you will your entire life. I work with police, EMS, and fire so that they can get to you fast when you drop your tendies.

So, the text of everything is long. I'm going to have to pump this into the comments at some point and I will cut some things out that will either dox me or are so specific to me that it won't apply to anyone else.

I'm going to give you a breakdown of how I laid out my exemption filing and why it works. I was raise a fundamental baptist. You think orthodox anything is weird? You ain't seen nothing until you're raised in that shit. An everyday part of the indoctrination is how to cover your ass legally in regards to your religion. If we're being honest, yes, you absolutely can use Biblical texts to support any position you want and you're going to see how this works to create a legal scenario that can't be denied. This is a legal arena and you have to think and operate in a legal context. This means, like literally any other accommodation, you need to define and provide the following, without exception:

1. That you need an accommodation
2. What accommodation you require
3. WHY you need an accommodation

Don't kid yourself, employers and legal teams are absolutely allowed to investigate your claim to see if you're just abusing the system or if you are claiming one thing while doing another, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER LEGAL REQUEST. This is not the time for a "fury of the righteous" explosion. And, yes, if you want there are indeed Biblical references commanding you to follow these legal paths (in Romans, if you care). And for the record, my exemption cleared 2 external legal teams, one in-house legal team, and company HR. And given our close work with government agencies, this is NOT an easy task.

Before we get into the details, though, you need to understand that a religious exemption is as much a legal right as requesting an accommodation because of a disability. It is a legal request and YOU are in control. You're not asking them for anything, you are absolutely TELLING them how it is. The beauty of how this works is that you don't even have to hold extreme views though you do have to know your scriptures and what those things mean.

Generally, you don't want to provide a long written explanation however if a legal team decides to question you, you will have to think on the fly and come up with the right answers without research during an interview. It's better to provide an overwhelming amount of evidence and lock it in in the filing than to have to have an interview.

Remember, above all else, your goal here is to "Deny, deflect, delay." We all know the dangers the current vaccines have because we're looking at that data daily. Businesses are not. Legal teams are not. You have to present them with something they can swallow in the context the work in and in a way they can understand.

Here's an outline of the request... look in the comments for the actual text because it's LONG.

1. Legal preamble
2. Religious offense
3. Statement of position
4. Authority reference
5. Technical data
6. Why the currently available vaccines are sin
7. Judgement and damnation
8. The 10 Commandments
9. The duty of every Christian
10. The likeness of God

I'll give you a give description of each so that you understand WHY each section is necessary and why it works as a whole.

Legal Preamble.

You are laying the legal foundation, just like any good lawyer, of what your rights are, clear established definitions and stating legal precedent. It tells the legal teams that you know exactly what's up and that they can't get away with denying you as a matter of standard course because if they do, you already know what laws they've violated.

Religious offense

Protection of religion is sacrosanct and the protection of it is enshrined not only in the first amendment but in various other rights laws that have been passed. By presenting umbrage, you set yourself up as not only devout (which is important) but if you do it right you can explain in the filing why no one can tell how devout you are.

Statement of position

This is your perspective and why it's a deeply held personal religious belief. This also sets the framework for you to comply only as far as you WANT and you can draw that line literally anywhere you choose. This is how you do it.

Authority reference

While the pope himself has said that you should get vaccinated, the legal preamble allows you to throw that statement aside as though it's worth less than dirt while invoking statements of religious authorities, even in the Catholic religion. These people have played in this business longer than you have. Let them do the heavy lifting.

Technical data

Normally you have to be exquisitely careful about presenting your objection based on the safety of the vaccination. However, this section is worded so carefully as to allow you to present any official data you want to support your position.

Why the currently available vaccines are sin

Remember, it has to be a DEEPLY held personal belief. You have to relate this somehow to your religion.

Judgement and damnation

What good is it to have these beliefs if there's no incentive? This is the incentive.

The 10 Commandments

The 10 commandments are a strong foundation of civil life. Use them.

The duty of every Christian

Why is it you have to follow these beliefs? Because you're commanded to

The likeness of God

This is just... this section is just art and it seals the deal in a way that... well, it honestly seems to me like it was inspired so I'm not going to question it.

Come pay my bills then.

Nothing?

That's what I thought. Go back to your mom's basement and suck on your tendies.
