As previously announced, Microsoft today officially launched their latest PC operating system, dubbed "Windows 11." Updates for Windows 10 PCs that fulfill the system requirements will be supplied for free, while Windows 11 PCs will be available for purchase starting immediately.

If and when it becomes feasible to upgrade to "Windows 11," Windows Update service will notify users who are running Windows 10. In the event that you decide to upgrade, you will be offered several download and installation alternatives. By the middle of 2022, updates will become accessible for all Windows 10 devices.

Due to new security mandates, Windows 11 has stricter hardware requirements than Windows 10, with Microsoft only supporting the operating system with updates on devices using an eighth-generation Intel Core CPU or newer (with some exceptions), AMD Ryzen CPU based on Zen+ microarchitecture or newer, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 ARM system-on-chip or newer. UEFI secure boot and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 support is also required. Windows 11 no longer supports 32-bit x86 architecture or systems using BIOS firmware. Windows 11 installation also requires an active internet connection and a Microsoft account. Creating 'offline' user accounts is no longer possible officially, although there are several workarounds available.

Putting aside trivial visual redesign, the independent testing has shown that Windows 11 has significant usability and productivity issues, which are caused by more nonsensical and restrictive changes to the core user interfaces.
