This is just from last week, but somehow it has been missed. In similar but only slightly related news, it looks like United Methodist membership is shrinking drastically, while Global Methodist numbers are growing. Homosexuality is not as popular as they want everyone to believe.

"DALLAS (AP) — Southern Baptist delegates at their national meeting overwhelmingly endorsed a ban on same-sex marriage — including a call for a reversal of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 10-year-old precedent legalizing it nationwide. They also called for legislators to curtail sports betting and to support policies that promote childbearing. The votes Tuesday came at the gathering of more than 10,000 church representatives at the annual meeting of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination."
This is a very good point. Obviously the state benefits from married people, which surprises me how much they also like to disrupt the nuclear family dynamic. They benefit from people marrying, buying more stuff, and procreating. I guess they benefit even more from a dependent base. What's best for the country's future isn't necessarily best for those running it.
