Middle eastern descent = judahite descent? Everyone in the middle east is a jew?
False. After that big lecture about how all israelites were not judahites? Surprised at you.
Its not really clear how much ancestry the average “jew” had from canaan before the bar kokhba rebellion (“pre-diaspora”) since at that time, second temple judaism accepted converts and even forced conversions outside of canaan. But certainly after jewish priests and scholars were exiled from palestine, they began marrying non levantine people in places like Iraq, turkey, egypt, and rome. Jewish practitioners passed throught many middle eastern countries before they got to europe, becoming admixed with all those host communities. The majority of jews were living in the middle east prior to the Islamic conquest. So middle eastern ancestry is not levantine or canaanite or judean.
Jews are not closely related to palestinians. They are not even closely related to each other.
