So I was thinking of starting a gaming lounge.

The idea is that so many places offer up games but there's not really a lot of places to play. So this would be some place for people to gather and play their games, meet like minded people, and just nerd out and have fun.

The general idea is to have seating with some consoles and arcade cabinets on the outer edges and tables for gaming with chairs. As far as services,we'd have vending machines for snacks and drinks and offer 3D,2D,and cloth printing (t-shirts,pants,blankets,that kind of thing). We'd also have a "bounty board" that lists good deals on stuff and allow people to sell items locally to other people. Dancing would also be allowed.

I dunno. What do you guys think?

No,I'm still in the "spitballing ideas" phase. I don't have anything ready to do any of this stuff. I want to have a solid plan before I commit to anything. Also "there was this place that was really cool and then it closed" isn't the encouragement you seem to think it is.

It's not an internet cafe,it's a gaming lounge. You come in and game locally. I wouldn't be opposed to some wifi to let people get on-line but it's not the main focus here. Old school local gaming.

We're not doing food. There's already tons of restaurants and we don't want to compete with them. One location I was looking at had a bar and a grocery store in the same lot so I'd rather not compete with that. So snacks and drinks in a vending machine or just sold over the counter should be fine. Also, you can get vending machines cheaper than that. Half or even a third the cost. Won't be top of the line but they'll work. Start small, build up.

I'd love to have a trusted partner. Too bad I don't. Oh well.

That's the idea. You don't need much, just space and a table and maybe chairs. It's bare bones but it's a place to play and enjoy yourself. Throw in some cabinets and consoles and you got something to do.
