What he showed was an outburst do to physical damage to his frontal lobe. He had a stroke and those effects rise to the surface even after "recovery".

Basically his brain flipped into fight or flight mode out of his control.

The brain does this when it's damaged as a protection measure.

When the brain gets damaged it sends proteins that adhere to myelin sheeths and neuron ends, lowering electrical activity.

If it doesn't get enough current flow it auto-flips the brain into fight or flight, an older primitive circuit that doesn't have much to do with the frontal lobe.
