https://z-library.sk/s/hunter%20S%20thompsonI'm reading his book on the 1972 election (I know an old Teamster organizer from Michigan that worked in the McGovern campaign - he is also racist - and that race has other interest as George Wallace was a threat until he got shot). He is openly McGovernick, even during the Democrat primaries, but the opening pages of the book are openly racist as he describes then 72% black Washington D.C. This is a guy that seems to relish breaking all the rules and appeals well to my countercultural sensibilities like, say, Charles Bukowski. I'm also interested in his book on the Hell's Angels.

I read most of his stuff. The Vegas book is fun. His essay on 'Electricity' is great. But drug and alcohol abuse ruined him.
