Say what you will about electric vehicles, but if there is a compact hybrid that was good and affordable I would look into it. Fuel would cost less than insurance.
Even full electric. $10 to charge to 100% at home. Suitable for 90% of most people's driving. I knew a guy who would commute his super duty to work every day, and never do truck stuff there. It would have been cheaper for him to rent a car to drive to work.
Driving a Tesla or a super duty for the status is bullshit, but they both have their place. Spending $100 a day on fuel just to get to work is wild. Would cost $3 in the Tesla.
