Quick, we should convince Donald Trump that because he still needs to sign off on the eminent domain that he deserves half. With any luck he'll buy it and we'll sour the partnership.
That or convince the supreme court that eminent domain intended to benefit a single corporation is not actually public interest. We'd need to do that quick though.
Otherwise it doesn't matter if AI improves or not (and it will). If AI remained dog water, with 0.5T behind it, it will be able to control your life.
I'm ok with AI research and money going into it. I just wish the investment was more diversified so there was a chance for the market to discover what serves the public best. With so much money it practically picks a winner out of the gate and sours any investment in alternatives. This interrupts efficient market discovery. If openAI as an organization will suck in some way (and it will) it's going to take a long time for the market to discover an alternative and ramp it up to compete.
Just as it wasn't best for IBM to dominate all computing but it took a while for them to fall from the top. With so much money we've just locked in delay to discovering what's better than openAI, when otherwise we might have found it this or next year.
Maybe we need to find some way to short softbank or run on it. Try to make sure they don't have the money.

Not that it's great now. However, having an AI controller monitoring the thoughts, beliefs, and actions of every individual in real time seems a little dystopian. Particularly so when influencing your thoughts and behaviors will be orders of magnitude easier.
Eliminating the technology of electronics is the only possible cure to modern jewish society.
