Have you always had prescription sunglasses or used cheapies?

Recently I got my first prescription sunglasses and I'm gushing with convert enthusiasm. Delighted at the way they reduce glare. I've never used sunglasses much 'cos they made me look a dork (imo) and while they still do...I'm old now and it doesn't matter. But I'm curious to know your experience so that I get some idea of how out-of-step I may have been with the rest of humanity. Where I'm really annoyed with myself is that these glasses may significantly reduce glare when driving which could make driving a lot safer when blinded by the sun. Cheap (non-prescription) sunglasses didn't seem to do much in this situation.

Edit: just dawned on me that not everyone wears glasses and so cheap non-prescription sunnies might be fine for them? But maybe more expensive sunglasses, even though not containing prescription lenses, have more effective lenses for reducing glare?

His hands are way too feminine and dainty to tie the knot properly. He's going to need a man to help.
