'New drone shot from Pacific Palisades shows entire blocks of homes literally burned to the ground.'

About 1 foot between houses. Flames from one house would have been blowing across the next two or three houses down.

I'd want my trees to be a lot greener than what you see there.

One reason why people don't use unseasoned wood in wood stoves is because it doesn't burn well until all the water is removed. That takes awhile with fires around living trees. Even so, most of those trees have burned to death despite still standing.

$4.7M Median listing home price

Land is so expensive there that they cram them in side by side, making them all extremely vulnerable to fire. Defensible space around their house could cost them an extra 5 or 10 million.
