I think nets of fishing line and other extremely light nearly invisible barriers are really going to be a necessity. And an actual case you're going to need to use thin metal wire and things so they can't be burnt out. And you're going to have sloped roofs over whatever you have so if some drone does bomb you from above the shell will hit the slope to roof and be deflected away.
