The difference being that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah, not the White messiah. I couldn't reject Christ any more than I could reject a job offer I never recieved for some Jewish company in Israel. It doesn't apply to me, I'm not a Jew.
Meanwhile, the Jews rejecting Jesus is significant, because he was intended to fulfill the Jewish Messianic prophecy. Are you a Jew? You being Jewish is the only way being Christian makes sense.
