Perhaps you remember this Deutsche Bank's scandal, when some employees were using time, to manipulate and false report Euribor and Libor interest rates. Basically their scam was, that in some time frame available on their comps- so maybe hours or minutes span- they would use more profitable interest rate for them for transactions, and not the real one they should use at that moment. Fast forward to future, when just few states in the world have really powerful AI controlling global transactions, and if those transactions are made in ms or even nanoseconds, who would know that had been even made? They caught those bankers back in 2000' because they were using too large time frame for their scam.
The second thing which made me think, was one experience with online shopping. I returned some shoes I bought online among other things, and was expecting money back on my account. Instead of a new transaction, so a return of shoe money on my account, they corrected/downsized amount I paid for that whole shopping, and even worse, they did it when was already next month. So for someone not knowing and just looking later at this list of transactions, nothing happened. I didn't buy them, didn't got them, didn't returned them, nothing. Whole chain of events is missing. You see?
So, I was thinking, if they will be able to correct transactions like that in retrospect, and in milliseconds or even nanoseconds, who would even know? There could be thousands of straw persons buying and returning something not even real, their bank account would not show, bc the bank can correct it backwards (muh we have an agreement with this company), but the company selling such fake items to fake people would get free credit by that, or even huge profit from that, if this is some global big corp. All they would need is some straw people for identity. Could explain why illegals are trafficked to west, sure this could be one of reasons.
Well, if you will find something on this topic, I'd love to read it, for now this possibility is just in my mind.
