These people (mostly spics) dress up in either sexy costumes, superhero, Disney, Sesame Street, Despicable Me, etc. and they dance next to families or call them over and offer to let you take a picture with them and then they put their hand out and say “$10” or “$20.” If you don’t pay, they will collude with each other or some pimp-like handler will appear to harass or threaten you until you cough up the money. They easily average like $300-$500 a day doing this shit and they have rarely been rounded up and arrested. It’s so lucrative, I had briefly mulled it over (sans the extortion) as maybe dressing as Colossus or Thor and seeing if I could make myself $300 a day.

Basically, if you’re some kind of predator, you can make a gazilllion dollars running scams in Times Square. Even panhandlers make like $150-$250 a day on average and if they didn’t leave their door hustles to buy crack, dope, smoke and booze, they could buy a fucking Lambo with all the money they make. Crackheads back in the early 80’s where interviewed and estimated they were spending $200 a day on crack. With inflation, I’m sure the better pandhandlers now are spending $600 a day on rocks.
